Botulinum toxin ('Botox') treatment for TMJ disorders

Botulinum toxin ('Botox') can be used as an alternative treatment for TMJ (Temporo-mandibular joint) disorders and associated jaw tension and pain.  The simple treatment can often eliminate headaches resulting from teeth grinding and clenching and in cases of severe stress can minimise lock jaw.

A safe and long lasting way to reduce problems associated with teeth grinding and clenching of jaws.

At Clearstone we use the latest treatment techniques to safely inject 'Botox' for patients who suffer from symptoms associated with grinding teeth and clenching their jaws.

The Botulinum Toxin Type A ('Botox') used at our clinics is AZZALURE , which has been selected for it's effectiveness and long duration.  Azzalure has been clinically proven and is a safe agent that is injected in small amounts into the Masseter muscle (the main muscle responsible for clenching and grinding). You will still be able to use this muscle for chewing and for facial expressions but the treatment will reduce the strain on the muscles caused by grinding and clenching and so reduce your symptoms.

The result is seen approximately one week after the administration and can last up to 6 months.
